Family Therapy

With today’s families coming in all shapes and sizes, family therapy has evolved to serve a wider variety of needs. Traditional and non-traditional families seek our support, including those that are blended or have members that are gay or adopted.

Regardless of a family’s makeup, our therapeutic approach is the same: we invite conversation so we can understand the situation and develop goals as a team. We don’t prescribe change, offer advice or make judgments, but instead provide informed guidance that leads to a stable, peaceful environment—based on what that means to each family.

Many things can cause strife in families, including life transitions like relocations and deployments, changes in employment or financial status, loss of a loved one, children being diagnosed with learning disabilities, dealing with chronic illnesses, addressing the challenges of adolescence, and divorce or separation. Family therapy, which can take place in both group and individual sessions, helps reduce conflict, add cohesion, and increase intimacy.

Your family should be a great source of strength and delight. If that’s not the case, you may benefit from working with Therapy Changes.
