Kristen Lipari, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in California with seven years of experience providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy. She is passionate about providing strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which she utilizes to help adults and adolescents work through problems that interfere with living meaningful, enriching lives. Dr. Lipari works collaboratively with her clients to promote awareness, insight, and adaptive thinking. Her approach is tailored to each individual need, which is informed by careful consideration of one’s cultural background and family dynamics. Dr. Lipari’s honest, warm approach helps her clients feel safe and secure throughout the therapeutic process. Dr. Lipari prioritizes developing a trusting relationship with her clients, which is the core of her work. As an Armenian American ethnic minority who studies historically oppressed cultural groups, Dr. Lipari welcomes clients representing all identities and diverse cultures and religions. She seeks to reduce the stigma in seeking support for underrepresented individuals.

Areas of Specialization

Dr. Lipari helps clients with a variety of concerns, including anxiety and depression. She has years of experience treating social anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, and perinatal mental health issues, stress, as well as life transitions and adjustments. Dr. Lipari is particularly interested in helping clients with cultural identity development, perinatal mental health, establishing healthy relationships, trauma, and addressing health concerns including sleep and insomnia. She also specializes in the treatment of fellow therapists.

Dr. Lipari is trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders from Postpartum Support International. She specializes in working with individuals and couples to address their changing roles and corresponding challenges in the perinatal period (before, during, and after pregnancy). Dr. Lipari received specialized training in evidence-based treatment of trauma using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE), as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which is the gold-standard insomnia treatment. She has extensive experience working with young adults in four college counseling centers, as well as experience working in inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and hospital settings.
