Jennifer McWaters, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in California providing professional therapeutic services to children, teens, families and adults. Dr. McWaters utilizes a strengths-based, collaborative approach in therapy tailored to each client’s needs. Clients will find Dr. McWaters’ style to be interactive, warm, and focused on empowering clients to reach their individual goals and achieve overall wellness.

Dr. McWaters’ evidence-based approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other skills-based approaches (such as DBT and ACT). In addition, her professional experience and systems-based training background led to her affinity for working with teens and families. Dr. McWaters is passionate about helping individuals and families improve their relationships and quality of life, by helping them align with their values and move towards committed action.
Dr. McWaters has a special interest in working with clients struggling with anxiety; additionally, she has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and has experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, self-injurious behaviors, eating disorders and those coping with difficult life transitions and low self-confidence. She utilizes a holistic lens to consider the biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs of each client.
