My Philosophy and Approach

My approach to therapy is caring, collaborative and action oriented in a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework. If you’ve experienced a profound life experience, I know how empty, lost, and alone you may feel. I am passionate about treating trauma using self-compassion skills and mindfulness-based techniques to help you move past guilt and become more accepting and present.

I believe that recovery is possible, even from the most painful experiences. I work closely with my clients to regain strength and develop strategies to move forward and find happiness again.

What You Will Experience Working With Me

In times of crisis, we can easily judge ourselves and be overly critical. In our work together, I encourage an attitude of curiosity and gently help you identify and move through the “stuck points” that keep you from feeling safe.

You won’t hear me say “get over it” or “move on.” I understand that healing happens gradually and that there’s no one “right” way to grieve. I respect your unique circumstances and honor the path that is right for you. I am attentive, open, flexible, and willing to adapt therapy to meet your needs. At Therapy Changes, we value providing you with an environment where you feel comfortable, safe, and heard.
