Group therapy is a great way for individuals to learn more about themselves and others in a safe environment. In group you will have the opportunity to explore patterns of thinking and behaving that are similar to how you relate to others in your life.
Objectives of group therapy include, but are not limited to:
Strength in Numbers
$45.00 / session; Weekly
Point Loma: Wednesdays 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
This unique group is specifically tailored for adult women survivors of childhood abuse, including sexual abuse. Group facilitators who are trained in the area of trauma will work with group members to create a safe place for members to share and connect. Strength in Numbers is a strength-based group where members have a say in what topics are relevant to cover. Some topics may include self-care, understanding emotions, and healthy coping strategies, physical and emotional boundaries, creating safety, healthy relationships, effective communication and improving a sense of self-worth. This group is ideal for those who are looking for additional support and guidance on their journey towards recovery.
Teen Support Group
$45.00 / session; Weekly
Point Loma: Saturdays 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Teen Support Group is for teens ages 13 – 17 to help increase their knowledge and ability to cope with life’s stressors, make healthy and positive decisions and connect with others who more or less “get it.”
Adolescence is a time of excitement and adventure, but also a time of major life transition and stress. Often, teens feel pulled to opposite ends of decisions and choices; torn between childhood and adulthood and feel lost or out of control. Group facilitators are genuine in their approach and treat all members like individuals. They strive to create a comfortable and relaxed space where teens can feel free to be themselves. Rather than the facilitators just giving an abundance of advice or opinions, teens are invited to a conversation and encouraged to express themselves in healthy ways.
Goals include, but are not limited to:
Intake Interview is required prior to joining, at a one-time cost of $80.
