Client Care Coordinator Internship

Therapy Changes is pleased to invite a student to participate in an internship where he or she will have the opportunity to provide direct client care over the phone in a group psychology practice setting. Interns will also have the chance to utilize office procedures and contribute to community outreach and public education efforts.  Interns will receive a foundation that will further his or her academic learning, growth and skill development in the areas of psychology, public health and business administration. The experience includes professional supervision, ongoing direction, oversight and feedback from a professional with expertise in the field. Supervisors will work with interns to establish clear learning objectives for the internship and provide opportunities to work towards achieving their objectives. Interns will be given substantive, hands-on projects and assignments and will be able to produce a tangible effect of their work at the completion of the internship.

Responsibilities of the Client Care Coordinator may include, but are not limited to:

  • Client Care
    • Work positively and collaboratively with a diverse mix of clients
    • Process incoming calls, emails and faxes
    • Complete new client clinical assessment over the phone
    • Offer emergency resources and support if necessary
    • Schedule new clients and provide information for the first appointment
    • Analyze and report referral sources, client demographics and service requests
    • Research and become familiar with therapeutic modalities and therapy styles
  • Community Outreach
    • Build awareness and preference for Therapy Changes and its services
    • Coordinate community referrals and resources
    • Assist and participate in meetings and events that lead to strategic partnerships with community and national organizations
  • Office Procedures
    • Complete daily office opening procedures
    • Replenish copies and supplies, as needed
    • Assist director and founder with clerical duties
    • Become knowledgeable of, and work in, a HIPAA compliant workplace

Minimum of 200 hours and 10 to 12 weeks required
